GRANTS & FINANCING

Expanding a business in Northern Ontario also provides you with grants and financing incentives. However, not all grant & loan financing programs are the same and eligibility criteria differ from one program to the next, dependant on what business venture you are looking to expand on.

The last page of our community profile suggests various grants and financing opportunities that may fit your business endeavor. However, to ensure you are targeting the right programs and are successful in your applications, we encourage you to make an appointment today with your local Economic Development Officer.

BUILDING PERMITS

A building permit is your approval to begin construction or demolition. By granting a building permit, the Town of Cochrane has reviewed your plans for any new structure, addition or renovation, and has deemed that the plans have complied with the Ontario Building Code, local zoning bylaws, and any other applicable laws and regulations.

A building permit regulates the type of construction and helps to ensure that building standards are met. The building permit process protects each homeowner’s interest, and protects those in the community by ensuring that any structural changes are legal, safe, and sound.

Relocating Your

CURRENT BUSINESS

Expanding your business doesn’t necessarily mean building an extension to your current facility. It may mean where you are now is simply too small and you need to move locations, or that your business would be better suited to serve your clientele from a different location in town.

Whatever your relocation needs are, the Town of Cochrane can help you find your next best spot for your business and ensure that this new location abides by the town bylaws, zoning restrictions, and official plan boundaries to ensure moving your business doesn’t cost you more than it should.
