Press Release – Real Fishing Show and Ontario Out of Doors Coming to Cochrane

Host of the ever popular Real Fishing Show, Bob Izumi, and Ontario Out of Doors highly acclaimed writer, James Smedley, will be stopping in Cochrane for a meet and greet at the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat at 3:30PM on March 27th for one hour to meet with media, local fishing enthusiasts, enroute to an ice fishing trip on Lake Abitibi hosted by Dunn Right Outfitters at Lake Abitibi Halfway Lodge. Sponsored by the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation and Northeastern Ontario Tourism, the excursion is intended to showcase late season ice fishing in Northeastern Ontario.

Did You Know?

Cochrane is the birthplace of Tim Horton, a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame who founded the Tim Hortons doughnut and coffee shop chain in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1964. Horton grew up playing ice hockey in Cochrane. In 1948, he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization; eventually winning four Stanley Cups.
